PLEASE NOTE: Please note Samsung have now updated and improved the design of this filter. The filter is now officially certified to the additional standard of NSF/ANSI 401 (as well as 42 & 53 which the older model was certified to). NSF/ANSI 401 certifies that this filter also removes 'Emerging' contaminants, which are a new category of water quality concerns for which evidence of health effects has not yet been established due in part to the trace levels at which these compounds are currently being detected.
The updated design now has 2 seals (O-Rings) on the connecting head. On the older outdated version of the filter, there was a single seal. The superior 2 seals ensure a tighter more secure fit with your refrigerator which both improves the efficiency of the filter and also reduces the possibility of any potential leaking which can develop with the usage of the old single seal versions
